The correspondence between Robert Schumann and Clara Wieck, their personal, two voise diary, the observations made by third parties, are transparent eye-witness accounts of a sincerity beyond suspicion. They reveal the mutual passion of the twenty- two year old Romantic composer and the genial , wild and fascinating thirteen year old child.
This long march toward Clara was the most fend period in Schumann’s career during which he composed the Impromptus on a thème by Clara Wieck (1833), the Fantasy , op.17 (1836), the Scenes from. Childhood (1838).
